Terms of Service
Last updated 29 September 2026
These terms cover using the MailComb application and buying a MailComb license. They're written to match how MailComb actually works — a local application with no account system of its own — rather than being generic boilerplate. Our privacy policy covers what data MailComb touches and where it goes; these terms cover the license and the legal ground rules.
1. Who you're contracting with
MailComb is a trading name of Graphics & Graphite Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15448210, of 33 Marriott Road, London, N10 1JJ, United Kingdom ("MailComb", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using MailComb, or by purchasing a license, you agree to these terms.
2. What MailComb is
MailComb is a desktop application you install and run on your own computer (currently for macOS; a Windows version is planned but not yet available). It has no MailComb-operated server or backend, and no MailComb account or sign-in of its own — see the privacy policy for exactly how it's built and why that matters. Using MailComb requires:
- Your own Google and/or Microsoft account, connected via that provider's own sign-in flow.
- For AI-assisted features (action items, dormant-account and purchase scanning), your own Anthropic API key, billed directly to your own Anthropic account.
We don't control, and aren't responsible for, Google's, Microsoft's or Anthropic's own services, pricing, availability or terms. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies, not ours.
3. License to use MailComb
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use MailComb on computers you own or control, subject to these terms. This is a license, not a sale — Graphics & Graphite Ltd retains ownership of MailComb, its code and its branding. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, resell or sublicense the application, except to the extent a law that can't be excluded by agreement says otherwise.
Free tier
The Free tier is free to use for as long as you like, with the limits described on the pricing page (currently: one connected Outlook mailbox and twelve months of mail history; during Gmail's early-access period, connecting Gmail needs a Full license).
Full license
A Full license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and unlocks the features described on the pricing page for the computer it's activated on. It isn't a per-user seat count or a time-limited term unless we say so clearly at the point of purchase. We may offer future paid upgrades (for example, a major new version) separately — a Full license covers the version line it was purchased for.
4. Buying a license
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the merchant of record for MailComb licenses. That means Lemon Squeezy, not Graphics & Graphite Ltd, is the seller you're contracting with for the purchase itself — they handle payment processing, invoicing, applicable sales tax/VAT, and refunds, under Lemon Squeezy's own terms. If you have a billing or refund question, Lemon Squeezy's own support channels can usually resolve it faster than we can; you're welcome to contact support@mailcomb.app too and we'll help either way.
7-day refund. If MailComb isn't for you, you can ask for a full refund within 7 days of buying a license, for any reason: ask Lemon Squeezy or email support@mailcomb.app and we'll arrange it. This is in addition to, and doesn't limit, any rights you have under consumer law.
Prices shown on the pricing page may change, including the end of any introductory pricing, without affecting a license you've already purchased.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your Anthropic API key reasonably secure — MailComb stores it locally on your device, and anyone with access to your device could use it. See the privacy policy for exactly how it's stored.
- Use MailComb in a way that complies with Google's and Microsoft's own terms of service for API access to your mailbox.
- Don't use MailComb for anything unlawful, or to access a mailbox you don't have the right to access.
- You're responsible for reviewing anything MailComb's AI features surface (action items, purchase detections, etc.) before relying on it — see the disclaimer below.
6. AI-generated content is not guaranteed accurate
Action items, purchase details, categorisations and similar output from MailComb's AI-assisted features are generated by a third-party AI model (Claude, via your own Anthropic key) reading your email content. Like any AI system, it can misread, omit or misinterpret information. MailComb is a convenience tool for triaging your inbox, not a substitute for reading anything you're relying on for a financial, legal or otherwise important decision.
7. No warranty
MailComb is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such warranties can't be excluded by law. We don't warrant that MailComb will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every mailbox configuration, and we don't warrant the accuracy of anything it extracts or infers from your mail.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Graphics & Graphite Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use MailComb — including costs you incur from your own Anthropic API usage, or consequences of acting (or not acting) on something MailComb surfaced or missed. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be excluded or limited.
Where liability can't be fully excluded, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with MailComb is limited to the amount you paid for your license (or £0 if you used the Free tier).
9. Intellectual property
MailComb's code, design and branding belong to Graphics & Graphite Ltd or its licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of that to you. You retain all rights to your own email content and data — MailComb's local-only design means we never hold a copy of it to have rights over in the first place.
10. Termination
You can stop using MailComb at any time by disconnecting your accounts and/or uninstalling the application. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these terms, though for a local, offline-capable application this is largely a theoretical provision — we have no ability to remotely disable an installed copy of MailComb, and don't intend to build one. Terminating your license doesn't entitle you to a refund except where Lemon Squeezy's own terms or applicable consumer law says otherwise.
11. Changes to MailComb or these terms
We may update MailComb (new versions, changed features) and these terms from time to time. If we change these terms materially, the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use MailComb after an update means you accept the current terms. If you don't agree with an update, you can stop using MailComb — your existing Full license remains valid for that version line regardless.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your own country of residence that can't be contracted away.
